World Obstacle signs partnership agreement with Ecoaims to develop laser shooting devices for Obstacle Sports

World Obstacle, Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO) and Eko-Aims Oy (Ecoaims) signed an agreement December 20th 2022 to develop and introduce a laser shooting device for use in obstacle sports like obstacle course racing.

This initiative started in 2016 when FISO introduced laser shooting at obstacle course races in the United States, obstacle events in the 2019 South East Asia Games held in the Philippines and collaborated with Spartan Race on championships starting in 2017, including the 2022 Spartan World Championships in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Jeremy Johnson, Ecoaims VP Sales & Marketing and Deputy CEO said: “We are excited to be working with World Obstacle on this initiative. Optical sporting devices for laser shooting are replacing ballistic shooting devices in sports around the world and the inclusion in obstacle sports is a logical step forward.”

FISO President Ian Adamson added: “Ecoaims has been a highly collaborative partner for the past six years, and we are delighted to be formalizing our relationship. The development of a simple, affordable, robust laser pistol and target makes laser shooting ideal for obstacle course racing. Unlike other target-based obstacles that are subject to environmental conditions laser shooting is highly reliable and quick to learn. Athlete feedback is extremely positive, with people commenting Laser Shooting is like highly reliable spear throw or archery.”
