Dresden City Biathlon 2026: city speed and precision

Biathlon returns to the heart of Dresden

On 23 August, the M4Energy City Biathlon returned to Dresden for its third edition. Around 4,000 spectators filled the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion as international biathletes raced from the stadium onto a compact 2.3-kilometre city loop.

The event brought elite and Para Biathlon onto the same summer stage. Team Ecoaims was glad to be part of the day and to meet athletes, coaches, organisers and biathlon supporters in central Dresden.

Para Biathlon in big arenas

Six Para athletes formed three mixed relay teams. Each pair brought together a female athlete with a visual impairment, competing with a guide, and a male standing athlete. On the range, the visually impaired athletes aimed with the help of audio signals.

Team Ecoaims ran the Para Biathlon competition with Ecoaims optical rifles and a live result system. The system links shooting data to live competition information so athletes, coaches and spectators could follow the range. We were proud to support a format that put Para Biathlon on the city programme alongside elite racing.

Anja Walter and Leonhard Volkert won the Para mixed relay in 34:45. Johanna Recktenwald and Nico Messinger Maier finished second, followed by Simona Edlingerová and Charly Tabouret in third.

The elite competitions delivered close racing as well. Germany’s Justus Strelow won the men’s final, while Czech athlete Tereza Voborníková took the women’s victory.

Thank you, Dresden

The shooting range had a focused atmosphere, while the stands brought energy to every race. Congratulations to every athlete, guide and team involved. Thank you as well to everyone who met Team Ecoaims during the event!
